Overcoming Rejection

Overview:
Rejection is not so bad. What we associate with rejection ,however, can be debilitating: Consider the scenario of being rejected by someone in a social situation. You ask someone to go out with you. The other person says no. You feel rejected, but it's deeper than that. He or she said no. What does that mean?
That could mean that they didn't find you attractive, or desirable.

Maybe you're not worth the time. Or, you are unattractive, undesirable, or worse, unlovable.

What if he or she is right?

Perhaps you'll never find anyone.

You might live your whole life alone.

Maybe you'll never find a mate.

You'll never have sexual satisfaction.

You'll go through life as a reluctant bachelor, or a spinster.

You won't be part of important social circles.

You won't have children.

And certainly, you won't have grandchildren.

No heirs.

Nothing to leave behind.

There will be no heritage.

Historians will reflect on these shortcomings in your life, if you become famous.

You'll have lived a drab and despicable existence. If this sounds way too far fetched for you, consider that for some people, in a business or social situation, being turned down by another is synonymous with a chain of possibilities that lead to disaster. In this session will we explore a variety of alternatives at your disposal in the face of rejection.

Why should you Attend: Rejection is a part of life, but it does not have to represent a downfall. Employed effectively, it can serve as a springboard toward success. For eight years, in the early part of this century, a young man with a dream walked the streets of Southern California. His quest was to design and operate an innovative theme park that would provide entertainment and pleasure for thousands of people. Everyone told him no one would be interested and that families preferred to go on outings and picnics.

Over this eight year period, he was continually refused by banks and financial institutions. His family, friends and business associates told him to give it up. On three separate occasions he went bankrupt. During this time, the amount of rejection and lack of support that this man endured would have broken the hardiest of spirits. However, his dream was not to be denied no matter how many times he was told it wouldn't work.

In the end he prevailed. We're speaking of Walt Disney. Since its origin, the total number of paid admissions to Disneyland and Disneyworld exceeds the population of the United States. The story of Walt Disney and thousands of others like him throughout history is not uncommon among high achievers. In fact, massive rejection is the road most travelled by self-made individuals If you want to handle and bounce back from rejection in your career or personal life, this program is definitely for you.
