2nd International Forest Biorefining Conference (IFBC) & 4h International Symposium on Lignocellulosic Materials (ISLM)

Lakehead University's Biorefining Research Institute (BRI) is pleased to host the 2nd International Forest Biorefining Conference (IFBC) and 4th International Symposium on Lignocellulosic Materials (ISLM). This unique joint event (https://ec.lakeheadu.ca/ifbc/home) will take place June 9 - 14, 2019 in Thunder Bay, Ontario - a growing city in the heart of the Canadian Boreal Forests and on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior - the world’s largest body of freshwater.

The aim of the 2019 IFBC & ISLM is to bring together the world's best researchers, academics, industry leaders, government officials and experts to discuss and collaborate on some of forest biorefinery’s most innovative and game changing opportunities. The conference will provide an international platform to update and critically review recent progress in all aspects of lignocellulosic research and innovation. Presenters from all over the world will share local, national and global challenges, innovative solutions and advancements in research, policy, practice and business that can all help achieve a sustainable Bioeconomy.

The conference theme is: A Future Bioeconomy: Cross-Sector Progress & Innovation. The main conference topics include: 1) Biomass; 2) Biorefining; 3) Biofuels; 4) Bioproducts; and 5) Bioeconomy. This is an exclusive opportunity to connect and dialogue with the experts who are shaping the future of the growing Bioeconomy.
